Almost every star on the Met Gala red carpet tonight paid homage to Karl Lagerfeld, who was being honored tonight. Alia Bhatt, who has starred in a slew of critically acclaimed films, was no exception. She turned to Nepalese-American designer Prabal Gurung for her Met Gala debut. The all-white outfit elegantly fit into the night’s dress code of “in honor of Karl.” Featuring a dramatic sheer train and hundreds (if not thousands) of pearl beads, the look served up pure princess bride—which certainly was a recurring theme in the decades-spanning catalog of Lagerfeld’s work. Another nice touch? She wore a single fingerless glove, which was one of Lagerfeld’s favorite accessories (though he wore two).

For his part, Gurung tapped into the immaculate all-white vibes too. The designer, who is part of the beloved House of Slay, donned a satin white blazer worn with a low-cut shirt underneath and multiple silver necklaces.

Thirty-year-old Bhatt is fast making her mark on the global fashion scene and crossing over into Hollywood. The actor is set to appear alongside Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan in the Netflix spy film Heart of Stone, which will release in August. And, despite her busy schedule, the actor found time to launch the sustainable maternity and children’s clothing brand, Ed-a-Mamma. If tonight’s look is anything to judge by, she’ll certainly be catching our eye again.
