Is there a trailer for And Just Like That Season 2?

Yes! On April 26, HBO Max released the first trailer for And Just Like That Season 2, and it features Charlotte’s daughter Lily declaring that she’s ready to lose her virginity; a “MILF list”; things getting steamy between Miranda and Che; and Carrie bumping into her old flame Aidan.

Will everyone from And Just Like That Season 1 return for Season 2?

Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis are all confirmed to be returning for Season 2. The teaser posted on the official Instagram account for And Just Like That confirming the news also featured Nicole Ari Parker as Lisa Todd Wexley, Sarita Choudhury as Seema Patel, Mario Cantone as Anthony Marentino, Karen Pittman as Dr. Nya Wallace, and Sara Ramirez as Che Diaz, meaning they, too, will reprise their roles. We’ll also see more of Miranda and Charlotte’s respective families: Evan Handler as Harry Goldenblatt, Cathy Ang as Lily, and Alexa Swinton as Rock, as well as David Eigenberg’s Steve Brady and Niall Cunningham’s Brady Hobbes.

On January 13, HBO also confirmed that Aidan Shaw would be back for And Just Like That 2.0. In an image posted to Instagram, he and Carrie can be seen strolling hand-in-hand through the streets of Manhattan, with Aidan apparently having had a glow up since his turquoise ring days. “Shh, don’t tell anyone,” the caption instructed—a decree the internet did not, even for a second, consider following. More images of the pair, this time embracing passionately, were released on February 10.

One character who almost certainly will not be returning—physically, at least—is Samatha Jones, as embodied by the effervescent Kim Cattrall. (She famously declined to be part of the reboot and doesn’t appear to have reconsidered.) However, showrunner Michael Patrick King has told Variety that Samantha will remain a “text friend” to Carrie, as she was in season one. Prior to that, he’d told the publication that viewers shouldn’t get their hopes up about seeing the pair reunite on screen. “Magically thinking, it’s great to have Samantha,” he said. “[But] I have no realistic expectation of Kim Cattrall ever appearing again.”

Another Sam will be in attendance, though: Sam Smith, who posted a photo from the set to Instagram on February 22. It’s anyone’s guess as to what this season will hold for them.

What will be the plot of And Just Like That Season 2?

As with Season 1, the major plot points of And Just Like That Season 2 will be kept under wraps until release, but that hasn’t stopped fans from speculating about what could be explored. In the final episode of the first installment, we see Carrie singlehandedly hosting Sex and the City, her new advice podcast, following the end of the Che Diaz-led X, Y, and Me. Will Carrie continue to impart her wisdom, will Franklyn continue to produce the show, and will the two of them actually get together? Or will she set her sights on emotionally devastating Aidan again? And what about Che and Miranda, after the latter decided to ditch her highly competitive summer internship to go to LA with the former, who’s doing a pilot?

When will And Just Like That Season 2 be released?

HBO Max has yet to announce a release date for And Just Like That Season 2, but production is currently underway, with the hope that the new series will begin streaming in the summer of 2023.
