Zendaya Delivers Another Major Vintage Moment in Noughties Versace

From ’80s Yves Saint Laurent to ’90s Valentino, Zendaya has delivered a series of major vintage moments over the years. But her favorite archive to dig into? Seemingly, the Versace vaults—with the actor sporting another vintage gown by the Italian fashion brand on Thursday night.

For CinemaCon’s Big Screen Achievement Awards in Las Vegas, Zendaya—who picked up the Star of the Year award—opted for a brown lace dress from Versace’s fall 2001 collection (originally worn on the runway by Karolina Kurkova), featuring leather panelling.

“Thank you @donatella_versace for another special moment, been waiting to wear this one,” the Euphoria star posted on Instagram following the event, while crediting Law Roach, the style architect behind the actor’s wardrobe prior to his retirement from the role.

Of course, it’s by no means the first time that Zendaya has worn vintage Versace on the red carpet. For the Green Carpet Fashion Awards in 2020, the style muse opted for an embellished chocolate-brown gown from 1996, the same year in which she was born. The following year, at the 2021 BET Awards, the actor wore a purple halterneck gown from Versace’s spring 2003 collection that paid tribute to the look Beyoncé wore at the same ceremony during the Noughties.

Meanwhile, for her first red-carpet appearance of 2023, Zendaya wore a green and black Versace couture gown from spring 2002 at the NAACP Image Awards. It’s clear that the star knows the power of a vintage statement—and given her penchant for Noughties Versace, we can‘t wait to see what she pulls out of the archives next.
